The idea of this contest is to encourage the participation of young architects. Participants need to be legally qualified to prosecute and have a maximum of 15 years in the profession, or have graduate after June 1997.
According to Gustavo Nascimento, Director of Sports Facilities Architecture of the Rio 2016 ™, young architects, with less time in the profession, have little chance of partcipating in big contests, because of the scale and volume sphere of investment needed for them. Thus, this new contest gives smaller companies the opportunity to participate in the process.
Proposals for the social area of the Olympic Golf Course should include: restaurant, bar, locker rooms, pro shop, space for events and a unit service dedicated to the conservation of vegetation in the complex. The buildings that will be built through this contest will be used by athletes during the Games and will be fundamental to the operation, "said Gustavo Nascimento.
